May Abbott
May Abbott was a weaver from the age of 14, and a member of YCL and CPGB from an early age.
She was also the full time secretary of the Rossendale branch of the Textile Workers Union and a long-standing member of the Lancashire and District (later North West) District Committee of Communist Party.
May Abbott’s husband was Syd Abbott (see separate entry) and she died in 2001.
