Boyle Philip

Philip Boyle

Boyle was born on the 5th October 1903 in Calhane, Ireland.

 

He was a carpenter by trade.

 

Having served in the IRA from 1919, he was imprisoned, in 1920-1; renewing his involvement on release.

 

He joined the British Communist Party in Hammersmith, London, probably in or around 1924.

 

He served in Spain with the International Brigade as a company quartermaster and was wounded at Teruel.
