Molly Zak
Molly Zak was active with solidarity work throughout the Spanish war of 1936-9 and rescued many children from that war-torn country, many decades later the Vietnam war saw her engaged in similar work.
She spent the last 13 years of her life in Plumstead working on peace and racial equality campaigns. Greeenwich council named and dedicated a day nursery to the life-long Communist and children’s campaigner.
Mollie Zak died aged 74 in 1985.
