Andrew F W  Shaw

Born in Inverness on 25th September 1899, Shaw was first a joiner and later a dispatch clerk.  He served in the First World War from 1915 and was demobilised from the forces in 1919.

Shaw joined the Communist Party during the 1920s, when he lived in Glasgow. He was a military observer in No 4 Company of the International Brigade’s British Battalion in Spain and was repatriated in December 1938.
