Keegan William

William Keegan

A National Unemployed Workers Movement activist, Keegan was an unemployed Communist miner from Baillieston, North Lanarkshire. He volunteered to join the International Brigade. He had already been active in raising funds for Spain by asking hundreds in the village to donate their Co-op dividend. Keegan was killed in action at Brunete on July 18th 1937 at the age of 28 years.
