Jack Eighteen

Jack Eighteen joined the Communist Party in the tool room in 1939 of Radnall Aircraft in Tolworth and rose to become the President of Tolworth AEU and Shop Convenor. He and John Foster and Ted Brady, also Communist Party members, were then dispersed to Cardinal Engineering, Hampton Court. Later, he became chairman of the Shop Stewards Committee at the Royal Ordnance Factory.

His character was described thus: "His modest and unassuming manner conceals a clear thinking patient and determined character.� Eighteen stood as a Communist Party candidate in South Ward, Hayes, West Middlesex at the 1946 Council elections.
