Eddie Jones
Eddie Jones joined the Communist Party in the 1930s and visited the Soviet Union in 1934.
He joined the army during the Second World War and was involved in the Allied landings in Italy.
After the war he returned to Wales and was blacklisted for his trade union activities.
He stood in the 1950s and 1960s as Communist candidate for Pontypool, by the end of that
period being elected Communist Councillor in Cwmbran, along with Bill Waters.
Eddie Jones died in the early 1970s of cancer.
