Alec Franks
Alec Franks was active in the Labour movement before the First World War.
He later became Chairman of the North London Jewish Defence League and, along with his wife, Clara, was a long time member of the Communist Party.
Alec Franks died on 6th May 1949, at which time he was Communist candidate for the Stamford ward of Hackney, London.
His daughter, Judy Sumner, worked for Soviet War News during the Second World War and both she and her husband were Party members, also.
